Berkeley Gets Smart About Cannabis Delivery, Lounges

Berkeley Patients Group sought to move to a larger location that would include a consumption lounge.  Rolling the dice on a double whammy of regulatory issues, it turns out paid off for the dispensary.  

New license types are fresh opportunities for entrepreneurs to startup new cannabis businesses too.  

Municipalities have been cautious about regulating lounges.  New licenses have been starting to issue however, such as in Illinois, Alaska and California. 

On Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 the Berkeley City Council legalized business types that help to remove the stigma of the cannabis industry.  

Retailers will need to comply with special ventilation requirements that will not be cheap to install.  

Seven marijuana delivery licenses are up for grabs.
