Hello! I just flew back with Air France Toronto Pearson International Airport with my family and I have to say it was such a great experience. From checking in to boarding, everything just flowed. All the staff members were so pleasant, particularly our children, that the whole procedure became so convenient. We used the Air France lounge, and that was this really nice room before we had to board the flight. The in-flight experience was terrific as well—friendly crew, nice food, and ample entertainment. Overall, we were really well looked after, and the airport experience was seamless. I would certainly fly with Air France again and advise others to do so as well!
Arriving at Toronto Pearson International Airport:
We arrived at Toronto Pearson early in the morning for our flight, which, as many know, is often one of the busiest times of day at large international airports. However, even though there were quite a few people, the airport didn’t feel overwhelmingly crowded, and everything was surprisingly organized. The signage throughout the airport is clear, which made it easy to navigate through the check-in area. We were flying Air France, so we headed to the designated check-in counter. What I really appreciated here was how friendly and helpful the staff was. Traveling with young children, it can sometimes feel like a bit of a scramble to get everything sorted out—luggage, boarding passes, passports, you name it—but the Air France team made it so much easier. They took the time to answer our questions, explain the process, and even directed us to the nearest washroom and family-friendly areas. Little things like that made a big difference and set the tone for a stress-free journey ahead.
Check-in and Security:
The check-in process itself was smooth. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly, and within no time, we were all checked in and ready to head to security. I think the key takeaway here is that Air France has definitely worked hard to streamline the experience for families, making sure that it doesn’t feel like a rushed or chaotic process, which I’ve experienced in other airports before. Security at Pearson was fairly standard. We were directed to a family lane, which was a nice touch—especially when traveling with kids. The staff here was incredibly efficient and friendly, ensuring that we didn’t feel rushed or overwhelmed. Of course, there's always a little bit of waiting involved in security, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I’ve experienced at other airports. And as a parent, I also appreciated that the security staff were understanding and respectful, which made the entire process a lot easier.
Airport Amenities:
After we cleared security, we had a bit of time to kill before our flight, so we decided to explore Toronto Pearson’s amenities. The airport is large and has a ton of shops, food options, and places to sit. One of the best parts of this experience was the lounge area near the gates for Air France. We had access to the Air France Lounge, and I have to say—it was a great spot to relax before the long flight. The lounge had plenty of seating and a nice mix of comfortable chairs and tables. We especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere—my kids had space to move around without feeling cramped, and we could sit back and enjoy some snacks. Speaking of snacks, the lounge offered a variety of food and beverages, from light bites to hot meals. We had some time to grab a quick bite before boarding, and I was really pleased with the variety and quality of the options. The kids enjoyed a little snack break, and my partner and I were able to enjoy some coffee before the long flight ahead.
Boarding the Flight:
When it came time to board, the process was smooth and organized. We were traveling on an Air France flight, and the boarding staff did a fantastic job of making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. As soon as we approached the gate, there was a clear and efficient announcement, and they made sure that families were prioritized in the boarding process. I’ve always appreciated when airlines give families a little extra time to board—especially when there are young children in tow—and Air France really delivered on that front. The boarding process itself was quick. Even with a full flight, we didn’t feel like we were waiting around for ages, which can often happen in large airports like Pearson. I really liked that they kept things moving, and before we knew it, we were stepping onto the plane and heading to our seats.
In-Flight Experience:
Now, let’s talk about the flight itself. We were traveling in economy class, and I’ll be honest—I wasn’t expecting anything too luxurious. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of comfort and service that Air France offered. The seats, though not the widest, were comfortable enough for the duration of the flight, and the legroom was decent. My kids were able to settle in without too much difficulty, and we had just enough space to stretch our legs. The flight attendants were incredibly friendly and helpful, constantly checking in to make sure that we had everything we needed. I really appreciated how attentive they were, especially with the kids. They made sure to offer extra pillows and blankets, and they were always willing to assist when we had questions or needed something. It’s those little touches that really make a difference when you’re traveling with children, and Air France did a great job of making us feel comfortable throughout the flight.
Arrival and Final Thoughts:
After a long but comfortable flight, we landed at our destination. The deplaning was smooth, and we were immediately ushered into the baggage claim area. Although we had a long way to go, I loved how effortless it was to navigate the airport at this time. Overall, our experience with YYZ Airport was wonderful. The airport itself is simple to get around, well laid out, and has plenty of amenities available that made our stay there pleasant. The personnel at the airport and on the flight were friendly and courteous, which was a big help, particularly when traveling with children. From check-in to the last part of the journey, everything was smooth sailing.
